Dyslexia-informed language therapy for children who learn differently.
Hello! I’m Avery Walker, MS, CCC-SLP, a Carmel-based Speech-Language Pathologist who specializes in dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. Some children process spoken and written language differently than their peers at a neurological level. They benefit from being taught differently, too.
I provide speech-language therapy that targets the foundational skills necessary for reading and writing, delivered within an established Orton-Gillingham-based Structured Literacy framework. My approach includes some of the same multisensory strategies used by skilled reading tutors, combined with therapy techniques that address underlying language challenges.
How it works:
Initial Contact: Fill out the contact form below, or email info@cllclinic.com to schedule a brief phone or Zoom consultation. We’ll discuss your concerns, your child’s history, and next steps.
Comprehensive language and literacy evaluation: Your child will receive a full assessment of reading, writing, sound processing, and language skills prior to receiving intervention services.
Evaluations are offered via in-person home visit or Zoom for healthcare and typically last 2-3 hours.
You’ll receive a detailed report, diagnostic impressions (when appropriate), school-based recommendations, and a follow-up conference.
Ongoing intervention: Therapy is typically 1-2 sessions/week, 45 minutes each, provided via home visit or Zoom.
